In 2000 Fort Bend ISD awarded PIE its GED contract. This program served 221 students. On August 16, 2000 the Houston Chronicle recognized PIE for its high completion rate, and strategies in educating the total student.

Since 2006, PIE has worked with “No More Victims” and graduated approximately 200 students through its private home school program. All of these students`parents were incarcerated.

Since 2010 PIE has worked with Thelma Scott, State Board member of DARS, to meet the needs of students and families who suffer from various disabilities.

Texas spends $133,911 per year on each young person it incarcerates, according to the new Justice policy institute report titled “Sticker Shock”. -Houston Chronicle Dec, 31. 2014
